Fred Raia
BS, RT(R)
Hello. My name is Frederick Raia, and I have been in the radiology profession for 18 years now; 4 as an in-the-field Radiographer, and 14 as an instructor and clinical director.
I have an intense desire to impart my knowledge to future radiologic technologists. I also have several passions, such as cooking, golf, and teaching students how to expertly position and acquire radiographs for the radiologist to interpret and diagnose. Since the life of a radiographer revolves around obtaining diagnostic images, this is one of the most important classes any student can take. As such, I take this tutoring course very seriously. I welcome you to the start of your career!
As stated, I am an expert at positioning, and I take that role very seriously. Students are actually being interviewed during their time on externship, and this is where a student needs to show his/her prowess in obtaining diagnostic medical images. My track record can speak for itself; the majority of my students are offered positions at their clinical sites prior to graduation, which is my overall goal. I have dedicated myself towards this end, and I will continue to do so.
My areas of expertise based on the content specs for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist national exam include:
